Myotonic dystrophy and limb-girdle muscular dystrophy
In the lab of Sam Carrell, M.D., Ph.D. and Ellie Carrell, Ph.D., the goal is to develop genetic medicines for inherited muscle disorders, with a focus on myotonic dystrophies and limb-girdle muscular dystrophy. Researchers use genetic models of these disorders to understand the molecular mechanisms important for disease and the impact of targeted genetic therapies.
